I'm also hoping they upgrade it to a version with the new Sony 61 MP sensor, maybe calling it an fpx or something. Hopefully it will work well, and I'm hoping it will make a good camera for shooting things like auroras and the Milkyway. They might just crop the image when IBIS is turned on for stills though, like they're likely going to do for shooting video, and the resulting image might only be 20 MP or 16 MP, or something like that. If so, maybe the sensor is actually a lot more than 24 MP. It will be interesting to see if the fp offers IBIS for 24 MP stills.

IBIS can be either sensor shift or electronic image stabilization, but sensor shift, being the physical movement of the sensor, is normally better, I think. The older I get, the easier I am to confuse. Is that what IBIS is actually called? I thought sensor shift is used to move the Bayer filter array. This is type of stabilization is not as effective as sensor shift but it does help. This is fairly common for video since it is often a crop of the sensor. I don’t think Sigma has said if this is video only or not. If the sensor is larger than the image captured you can use the additional space to perform up/down and side to side image stabilization using the extra area on the sensor.
